Jonathan Ashdown is a broadcast camera assistant & second camera operator with over 8 years working in the industry. He predominantly works on prime-time TV shows such as BBCs Top Gear and ITVs Gordon, Gino & Fred's Road Trip.
He works regularly in the entertainment sector and is as comfortable up a mountain as he is in a London studio. He has traveled extensively with work including Europe, Africa, Middle East, Asia, South Asia & North America.
He is a hard worker familiar with the rigours of producing top quality broadcast TV and with all major formats of broadcast camera.
As well as assisting, Jonathan regularly operates as a second or third camera on broadcast TV shows such as BBC documentary series Wonderful World of Babies, Rob & Romesh meets & Strictly Come Dancing - Strictly the Best 2018.
He is very interested in working more in documentary and is actively pursuing these opportunities in 2019.
Jonathan also enjoys working as a cinematographer on short films and music videos. This is something he is actively pursuing alongside his broadcast career and is always looking for new projects to collaborate on so if you have an idea and are in need of a camera operator or DoP, don't hesitate to get in touch.
In his personal time, Jonathan is a keen runner who competes in the Surrey cross-country leagues for British Airways AC and represents Shepperton Running Group in other events. He has 5 marathons planned for 2019. He also enjoys spending time in the mountains, the cinema and medieval history.
